Diocese of Saint Cuthbert
St. Cuthbert's is a diocese of the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches - Province USA. As a part of the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches, we embrace the convergence of the three great streams of Christianity: the liturgical/sacramental, the evangelical, and the charismatic/pentecostal.
Our diocesan structure within the communion is "relational" in nature rather than geographical. Parishes and clergy are a part of the diocese through their relationship with their bishop, rather than by virtue of geographic location. This relationship (rather than hierarchial) orientation is a reflection of the strong identification with the Celtic tradition of the Church within the CEEC.
Our vision as a diocese is to see this expression woven into the fabric of the land and not concentrated in or limited to large population centers. While "traditional" parishes may be a part of the diocese, we also envision varied local expressions which grow out of the relationships of the faith-communities.
