Dr. James Jijide was born on 17 January 1949 in Marondera, Zimbabwe. He attended primary, secondary and college studies in Zimbabwe before pursuing university education for eight years in France. Professionally, he has worked for various national, regional and international organisations as well as for the United Nations in the field of HIV/AIDS and Reproductive Health. Widely-traveled and multi-lingual, Dr. Jijide is fluent in two African languages, Shona and Chewa and in two international languages, English and French. A full vegetarian since 2008, Dr. James Jijide enjoys writing urban african fiction, watching track events and aerobic exercising in his spare time. Married, he has three children.
