The book consists of three short novels based on "historical investigations" into the times that are still mysterious and documentless so far. The absence of facts and information I had to overcome with logical assumptions that will hopefully appeal to my readers.
The first novel looks into the circumstances of Jewish Exodus from ancient Egypt. No material evidence was discovered so far about this event that became fundamental for three of the major religions. It revives the life in Egypt at the early 14th century before A.D. - the well-known Pharaoh Ekhnaton's reign. Despite volumes of research data about his reign he is much less learned than other Pharaohs 18th dynasty. However, his tremendous deeds influenced a lot onto the destinies of the mankind. His lessons are so great that not only professional historians want to learn from them. I am not a historian, nor I am a philosopher, psychologist, or ethnologist. I am a geologist and amateur to the history and to many other things. I believe it is great to be an amateur, - that means "to be in love with" your subject.
It happened a long time ago when I first got interested in some moments of the reign of Egyptian Pharaoh Ekhnaton (his other name is Nafouria). Many scholars suggest that he was very ugly. This fact was used against Ekhnaton by clerics from the city of Fives who struggled for the influence over the Ekhnaton's father Amenhotep III against his mother Tia influence. The clerics advised Amenhotep to sacrifice his son, the ugly Nafouria, to the cult of the God of Sun, Ra. The power-loving Pharaoh did not agree, however, he exiled Nafouria from Egypt. Ekhnaton "disappeared" for 20 years. But afterwards he reappeared as a Pharaoh Amenhotep IV. From that time he ruled for 17 years. His reign he was a great turning point for the whole spiritual life of the majestic empire of Egypt.
What was he doing that 20 years while in exile? Where did he study to prepare himself for such a tremendous revolution in his country? Who were his teachers that managed to arm him with such a mighty "weapon" of knowledge about how to implement his painful reforms? What were the purposes that led them to do so? Did they really suppose the child would be a Pharaoh? No evidences suggest that Tia or anyone from her clan even contacted the exiled prince.
But the most significant question is about those who supported Nafouria in his ambitious plans "to turn over the world". He could not achieve such success alone, without friends and collaborators. Who were they?
Joseph Flavius mentioned in his works a certain Egyptian cleric Osarcef, who gained later the name of Moses and who led the Exodus. Flavius suggested that a revolt against the Pharaoh followed the Exodus. Historians, including our contemporaries, often pay attention to this fact. Those scholars suggest that under Ekhnaton reign a great leader acted in the country. Some historians suppose that he was a friend of Ekhnaton, while others think of him rather as a dissident. Still many historians believe that immediately after Ekhnaton's death the Exodus from Egypt took place under Moses' leadership. But it is unclear exactly who were the people exiled? I suggest one version to these questions.
The second story is about Jewish history many centuries after the Exodus. The Jews who were ethnic group created by Moses grew and became extremely firm in their religious belief. It became one time a mighty nation while lived in their Promised Land. All this came to the end with conquest of the Jewish state, first by Assyria, than by Persian Empire, and finally by Roman Empire. After expulsion of the nation its destiny went a very specific way.
It was unique case in the history, that a nation, exterminated by it's half, expelled from its land and dispersed throughout the whole world did not disappear, even did not assimilate. The Jews settled among different peoples organized their national life through firm communities, cemented by their religion and customs. They created even specific laws for communication with the outside world. Such a mode of life saved the Jews throughout two thousand years. And the Jews returned to their historic Land afterwards and reestablished their own statehood!
The Jewish history is well documented, so one can discover in this nation destiny certain tendencies that are more vivid than in other nations, and still many of these tendencies may well apply to other dispersed ethnic groups and peoples.
The most significant question is about whether a nation destiny is controlled by the Creator? And not only a particular nation in question but also an entire world destiny. If so, how such Divine control is presented or expressed?
I chose the Jewish history as the best example to show how its periods of gradual development (I named them ordinary quiet periods) were followed by revolutionary leaps (the murky times). During the "ordinary quiet" periods Jewish economy, culture, education flourished, and that all led to the emergence of extreme passionaries - personalities with extraordinary energy who were often adventurous. They were leading the nation into "revolutionary" murky times.
What lies behind these tendencies? Is it an expression of the Creator's will? Or is it His law of the development of the whole world of living creatures? If so, what are the conditions of its application? Are there particular limitations for Homo sapiens?
I tried to seek responses to those uneasy questions investigating first. the tendencies in the development of calamari, then - the family of primates. And, in the end, I followed the destiny of Jewish nation, that is either loved or hated by almost every representative of other ethnic groups.
I followed through three periods of Jewish "quiet times": under Persian rule (from 240 to 480 A.D.), Khazar Khaganate (from 550 to 965 A.D.) and early Muslim (from 8th to 13th centuries). All these periods ended in terrible battles and conflicts, critical for existence of Jews as a nation. I came to a certain conclusions and findings which I want to share with you, my respected Reader.
The third novel is not about Jews, since I consider two is enough. The third story tells about historic encounter between Christianity and Islam. I believe that it is very important to look into historic paradoxes and enigmas that seem senseless as both religions are preaching the Unified God. I am trying to follow those religions through the last millennium to find out reasons that lie behind their clashes with each other while exploring the main dogmas of both religions.
I am not intended to call upon any coercive steps, neither I stay for revolutionary and violent attempts to change main religious laws or traditions. I just wonder how does each of these religion apply its own beliefs and dogmas to political, economic and social problems and phenomena, and how such applications led to the acute conflicts in the past as well as in our times.
Some scholars suggest the clash of civilizations. I don't think so. If you can be convinced of the idea of my second novel you can sleep in peace. after 40 or 50 years. But if you are not convinced or reluctant to follow the Natural Laws. it's up to you to see the possible consequences.
